Wild Wire Women

"still waiting (waiting...still)"  2009

Current selection for the juried exhibition Earth, Fire, Fibre at the Anchorage (Alaska) Musuem.

This sculptural piece is created from pieces of brick found on beaches of Kodiak, Alaska.  The base, a large piece of beach-worn drainage pipe, contains the words "still" and "waiting" written in copper wire.  The words can be read as "still waiting" and waiting, still".   It seems the only way a lady made out of stone could be waiting is very, very still.
